Exploring the Moon: Apollo’s Scientific Legacy

This artist’s concept envisions Apollo astronauts conducting scientific experiments on the lunar surface. From seismic sensors to solar wind collectors, the Apollo program carried a variety of instruments designed to expand our knowledge of the Moon. Many of these experiments were left behind on the lunar surface, transmitting data for years after the astronauts had returned home.
